What is the network cabinet?

The network cabinet is used to combine installation panels, plug-ins, sub-boxes, electronic components, devices and mechanical parts and components to form an integral installation box.

According to the type, there are server cabinets, wall-mounted cabinets, network cabinets, standard cabinets, intelligent protection outdoor cabinets, etc., with capacity values ranging from 2U to 42U.

A network cabinet consists of a frame and a cover (door), generally in the shape of a cuboid, and is placed on the ground. It provides suitable environment and safety protection for the normal operation of electronic equipment. This is the first level assembly after the system level. A cabinet that does not have an enclosed structure is called a rack.

Both network cabinets and server cabinets are 19-inch standard cabinets, which is the common point of network cabinets and server cabinets. The difference between a network cabinet and a server cabinet is:

Server cabinets are used to install 19-inch standard equipment such as servers, monitors, UPS, and non-19-inch standard equipment. There are requirements for the depth, height, and load-bearing of the cabinet. The width is generally 600MM, and the depth is generally above 900MM. The internal equipment has a large amount of heat dissipation, and the front and rear doors are equipped with ventilation holes.

The network cabinet is mainly used to store routers, switches, patch panels and other network equipment and accessories. The depth is generally less than 800mm, and the width is 600mm and 800mm. The front door is generally a transparent tempered glass door, which does not require high heat dissipation and environment.
